Description

The new 2017 edition of Daylily Exhibitions** contains hundreds of changes, clarifications, consolidations and additions designed to eliminate actual problems encountered at shows and to remove confusing, contradictive and redundant material in the previous edition.  To further enhance the learning process the new edition also features more than 100 full-color photographs, including 65 illustrating the daylily forms, subforms and color patterns.

Highlights of some of the additions and/or changes in the 2017 edition:

 

  Procedures for dealing with ethics violations

Clarification regarding those with the power to disqualify an entry and a list detailing the only reasons an entry may be disqualified

Clarification regarding the ownership and those allowed to transport and enter a given entry into a show

A new Seedling Distinction worksheet, along with guidelines

The requirement for judges to sign their Best-in-Show form

An additional tie breaker for Best-in-Show tabulation and the procedure for determining the outcome if entries remain tied after exhausting all tie breakers

 A validation form for the requirement of an exhibition judge to show flowers in accredited shows to retain certification was added to the show schedule

A procedure for transporting very tall seedling scapes to a show

Clarification of the requirements for a double to be considered fully double

The definition of a double (percentage requirements), including a new AHS list of Doubles for show purposes

Clarification on judging the spider form

Redundant sections dealing with point scoring were consolidated

Penalty point assessment under Condition and Grooming for pollen and transitory insects was clarified

 

**All AHS exhibition judges are required to possess the latest edition of Daylily Exhibitions: A Practical Guide for Daylily Exhibitors, Judges and Show Chairs. This edition was approved by the AHS Board of Directors and replaces ALL previous editions as of January 1, 2017.
